El Maestro's Bike shop is owned and operated by Jorge Sosa a.k.a "El Maestro". The shop has been in the same location and serving the central downtown Los Angeles community for over ten years. Bike messengers, daily commuters, casual riders, alley cat racers, tricksters, roadies as well as low-riders are all welcome at Maestros. If you own a bike or are looking to get a bike then you are always welcome at Maestros. Maestro’s commitment to the cycling community began in El Salvador where Maestro began working on bikes as a means to an end over twenty years ago. Immigrating to the United States during the civil unrest in Maestro started a new while supporting his family with odd jobs before he was able to set up shop. After many years of hard work and saving Maestro opened El Maestro Bike Shop #1 in the Pico-Union area. After several years of building a solid reputation for quality repairs and great customer service Maestro opened El Maestro #2 close to the fashion district on Main and 8th St. Everything was going great until El Maestro #1 fell victim to the process of gentrification. The shop was part of the area where new buildings, both commercial and residential as well as parking structures were being erected. Fortunately El Maestro #2 flourished and continues to be downtown's go to spot for repairs and service and sales. El Maestro strives to serve the community by supporting Lacbc, Ciclavia Bike to Work Week, Bike Film Festival and other community events that promote cyclist’s rights and cycling awareness. El Maestro and his crew thank you for your continued patronage and look forward of many more years of service to the community. Thank You and Ride On!!!
